If there’s one party we want to attend, it’s an Alexander Wang party – and that’s exactly what happened this year for Fall 2017 New York Fashion Week.
Wang brought his crowd to a different kind of venue in Harlem Saturday (Feb. 11), which invite-only invitations read “no after-party.”
However, the location was everything but anti-party. When attendees arrived, they were greeted with #WangFest wristbands and stacks of Peroni kegs were lined up waiting to be drank. Just like any good time, there were dancers and music as everyone anticipated what would happen next. Unfortunately, we didn’t hear of any celebs or fashion influencers doing keg stands to get the event really started. Onlookers were forced to stand around an elevated catwalk, but were able to sip on cocktails, just like you do while waiting for your favorite singer to hit the stage.
Music was provided by Metro Boomin, and strobe lights lit across the sky. Clearly, this was less of a runway show and more of a concert that just so happened to contain awesome clothes. The rebel models had fresh hair cuts and wore mainly black ensembles that featured studs, leisure pieces, western wear, curvy catsuits, closet staples, and denim jackets. Some pieces had phrases on them including “no after-party,” “for drugs,” “party animal,” and “best high you can buy.”
Bella Hadid made her NYFW debut wearing some sexy booties paired with leather pants, black leggings and a band graphic tee, while Kendall Jenner strutted her stuff wearing a masculine fringe top, zipper embellished leather trousers, booties and a choker.
Before the show, Wang announced he was pairing up with ADIDAS, teasing the line by wearing it on the stage.
The looks from NYFW are already on sale on Wang’s website and we’re sure they will sell out in record time.
