We saw checkered print take off earlier this year, but now we know for fact it’s sticking around thanks to 2019 Resort shows.
During Jil Sander 2019 runway, models came down in head to toe in checkered print getups. Let’s just say, we weren’t mad about it at all. There’s something fun and playful about the print that we can’t get enough of. It’s a new and way better modern twist on gingham, so you don’t have to look like a picnic basket, but an actual stylist.
We are seeing the trend in just about every piece. From sports bras to socks, to dresses and turtle necks like Jil’s runway. We can only expect the print to soon be on every piece possible. We really hope it hits the accessory world, because how dope would a checkered bag or pair of sunnies be?
This time around, the hues are playing it cool in shades of light orange, blue, nudes. Basically, what we are saying is, stay on the lighter side and let the print itself be the bold type.
The best part about this trend is that it hasn’t completely caught on yet in the United States. So, you can be the first to wear it. The look is all over Paris and the rest of Europe, meaning it’s up to you to start being the trend setter of the year!
If full checkered isn’t your thing, you can still get involved in a similar look. The Nascar vibe is totally in thanks to Tommy Hilfiger’s latest season. From motto pants to car graphics, this look is totally in. If you’re broke AF and can’t shift into full gear due to your wallet, simply head to your local thrift store and see what type of Nascar or Formula -1 gear is there. Trust us, we’ve never hit a thrift store and haven’t seen a Nascar memoir.
