Get ready, because mint green dresses are taking over and you could be the first to wear one. Why? This past weekend, Kanye West showed up to 2 Chainz wedding in a mint suit. It was Virgil Abloh’s first suit from his debut menswear collection for Louis Vuitton. Kanye didn’t wear a shirt (yes, you read that right), but did flash the Louis Vuitton logo. They iconic brand embossed on his outfit from head to toe. If that wasn’t enough, he topped his look off with too-small Yeezy slippers that went viral across the internet.
But, back to his suit. The color was refreshing and since it was created by the one and only Virgil Abloh, we know it’s going to be huge this coming season. Especially now that Kanye has supported and worn the hue.
While we love a black get up, we know how dope it would be to roll up in a mint green dress and shock everyone in something for once that wasn’t neutral.
Don’t believe that it’s going to be huge? Think again. Trend forecasting service WGSN has revealed a pastel shade of green, named “neo mint.” They claim it will take over both fashion and interior in 2020.
According WGSN, neo mint is a gender-neutral color with “an oxygenating, fresh tone that aligns science and technology with nature”.
WGSN‘s team did big research that included observing street fashion, data, current affairs and social media.
“What is becoming clear is the importance of neo mint – a shade that succinctly aligns futuristic development with nature,” WGSN’s director Jane Monnington Boddy told Dezeen.
Long story short, don’t f**k with mint, because as Kanye already knows, it’s going to be extra af. While we would all love to have a mint green suit in our closet, we probably wouldn’t wear it a whole lot (we know some of you ballers would and that’s fine with us!).
We found some mint green dresses that can get the job done and that are probably Kanye-approved.
