One thing’s for sure, Starbucks has kept us busy on Instagram this summer. It seems like every other week, we’re working our hardest to catch that perfect photo of Starbucks’ colorful and fun summer drinks. Whereas last summer brought us festive cups, this summer is bringing us festive drinks! Between the “secret menu” rainbow drinks that everyone was recently obsessing over and the “granitas” – the perfect afternoon treat, Starbucks has officially rolled out two new drink options: Teavana Shaken Iced Berry Sangria Herbal Tea and Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato.
Although the sangria tea isn’t exactly what it sounds like (alcohol, being the missing component), it sounds and looks incredibly refreshing. We also did a “wall” test, and the drink is very photogenic and ready for your next Insta post. The drink is freshly brewed Iced Passion Tango Tea with Sangria syrup, which contains a blend of peach, elderberry, blood orange and raspberry flavors. All of that gets mixed, poured off with ice and topped off with a fruit garnish made of apples and oranges.
In addition to the Teavana Shaken Iced Berry Sangria Herbal Tea, coffee and coconut milk lovers will be especially pleased with the Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato! According to a company statement, this drink was basically made with summer in mind. “Summer is a great time to highlight coconut milk. It’s lighter in body than regular milk, and can be a little more refreshing.” The beverage, which is now apart of Starbucks’ “cold bar” menu of cold coffees and espresso products, is the first ever iced espresso drink to feature coconut milk, in comparison to regular milk. According to Starbucks’ description, the drink, which consists of chilled coconut milk with espresso poured on top, white chocolate mocha sauce, mocha swirl and caramel sauce drizzle, is more or less a twist on the classic Iced Caramel Macchiato.
Whatever your preference, we suggest trying them both – if even just for the sake of the gram – and letting us know which is your new fav! The drinks are available, in-stores, now and unlike other seasonal drinks, these will be available for a long time coming!
