Celebrities showed off their best dressed and creative styles at the Met Gala, and DAMN!
This year’s theme for the gala was way different than usual – but what else would we really expect? It was dubbed Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and while it seemed controversial, the Vatican gave it the a-okay. There will be over 150 designer pieces, but there will also be 50 garments and accessories from the Vatican. Major brands include Chanel, Valentino, and Dolce & Gabbana.
“We know it could be controversial for right wing or conservative Catholics and for liberal Catholics,” explained curator Andrew Bolton told the New York Times. The night focused “on a shared hypothesis about what we call the Catholic imagination and the way it has engaged artists and designers and shaped their approach to creativity, as opposed to any kind of theology or sociology.”
So WTF does that all mean? It means we received some pretty creative themed outfits from our favorite a-listers. We rounded up some of our favorites from the night, check them out below.
