The #WRUWGirl’s Guide to Parisian Shopping

Heading to Paris soon? Well, I’ll make this quick; boutiques are EVERYTHING! While Americans are more accustom to malls, the streets of Paris are lined with a variety of unique boutiques. Whether you’re looking for something colorful and fun, or something chic and luxurious, you’ll find it around basically any corner in Paris. In true WhatRUWearing Girl form, I couldn’t wait to get my shop on upon my arrival in Paris. But, the question was WHERE?

Paris is conveniently split up into districts, or arrondissements 1-20, which make traveling with a map, a little more convenient. When speaking of boutiques, I now automatically think of the Bastille area, or the 11th arrondissement of Paris. The Bastille area is stacked with only the finest clothing and jewelry boutiques. Although these boutiques can run a bit on the pricier side, I’d suggest searching through everything if you’re on the hunt as you can find some truly amazing deals! However, when shopping like a Parisian, you can easily walk right into the next boutique if you have no luck.

But perhaps you’re looking for some higher end shops to browse or drool over? Aside from the Bastille area in Paris, Madeline and Champs-Élysées are definitely the streets to frequent when seeking luxury purchases! With stores such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and Dior lining the streets, all fashion girls and lovers alike will bask at the opportunity to experience the true magic that is Parisian fashion heaven!

While it’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint a specific area when considering the best boutiques in Paris, Montmartre, also known as “The Painter’s District”, has a number of shops lined up and down the cobblestone walk ways, which are definitely worth peeking into when given the chance.

Now if you really want my honest advice, I’d encourage you to get lost in Paris! Although this suggestion may sound oh so intimidating, walking off the beaten path allows you to explore the true culture of Paris. So, walk down the winding roads, take in the smells of fresh pastries and dip into a real Parisian boutique (or two!) along your adventure. You won’t regret it.
