Western Boots Were Ridiculously Every Where At 2018 NYFW

The next hottest trend in shoes isn’t your typical black bootie. Western boots were one of the most spotted trends at New York Fashion Week, both on and off the runway. No, we don’t mean they are dressing like they are going to see their favorite country stars. They still look street style chic, without looking like they just rolled out of a barn.

Over the weekend, we were seeing the hottest influencers and models in stunning and creative western boots. The trend started last year, and is only gaining more popularity. We are the first to admit we didn’t think it would hop on and stick around. The only place we use to ever be caught dead in cowboy boots was a concert or frat boy themed parties. But now, weirdly AF, they’re spotted everywhere we look.

Whether you want a thick chunky heel, a flat, or an edgy thigh high western style, there’s one for everyone (or should we say y’all?) out there. You can also find them in all different types of luxurious fabrics as well as with bold accents. There are sparkly and slouchy styles, as well as fringe and fashion designer label looks.

But how do you wear them without looking like you are in the total wrong zip code? It’s all about pulling together complementary pieces that balance them out. Whether you wear it with shorts, a skirt,  jeans, a dress or romper, it doesn’t matter. The shoes will force you to take a little more time with perfecting your #ootd.

We know it sounds a little out of your fashion comfort zone, but that’s what makes it so great. It’s something you normally wouldn’t wear that is for once in, and you can make the best out of it.

Still need ideas? We pulled some of our favorite western boot NYFW street style stars so you can start creating your own look!
