Everything You Want and Need to Know About Kanye West’s YEEZY Season 4

On Wednesday afternoon, Kanye West bused his very special guests to Roosevelt Island’s Four Freedoms Park in NYC for his highly anticipated YEEZY Season 4 fashion show. Although the FROW wasn’t as iconic as Season 1, which hosted A-listers from Beyonce, Jay-Z and Rihanna to Anna Wintour and Alexander Wang and the audience wasn’t as jampacked as Season 3, when the location (MSG) was announced, in advance, and fans were eligible to purchase tickets, Kanye’s vision for Season 4 failed to disappoint. Not only did Kanye employee ALL models of color, something that many designers seem to struggle with, he also introduced a few fresh new faces to the runway. Sofia Richie, the 18-year-old younger sister of Nicole Richie and rumored girlfriend of Justin Bieber, made her first major runway appearance, sporting a green hooded sherling coat and oversized white knee boots, similar to one’s Kim has been seen wearing while in New York. Legendary supermodel Grace Bol, up and coming model Slick Woods, and dancer and star of Kanye’s Fade video, Teyana Taylor, also walked in YEEZY Season 4, with veteran, Chanel Iman, closing the show.

The collection, which screams Saturday late afternoon/early evening in Los Angeles, is arguably his most wearable to date and aligns with West’s previous seasons, which boast body conscious clothing in earthy tones and nude and neutral colors. Knee-high boots, ranging from black to white and even clear, were the stars of the show, with outerwear coming in at a close second. So much so, that outerwear may be the designer’s niche. Although Kanye didn’t mention a muse for his collection, we imagine the Kardashian Jenner girls were used as inspiration for many of the pieces. And naturally, they showed up and out at the show, with Kendall, Kylie and Kim all dressed in various pieces from the collection. Showgoers also received a preview of upcoming YEEZY Boost 350’s, scheduled to release later in the year, with models sporting an all-white version and an oxford tan version. Despite a few less than ideal day of conditions, YEEZY Season 4 delivered and Kanye has proven, once again, that he is, indeed, a visionary. Photos of the show and collection can be seen below.
